Indio is the home of a branch of the Riverside County Superior Court, the Larson Justice Center, located at: 46-200 Oasis St, Indio, CA 92201. Most of the cases I handle are set in this courthouse. The law office of Geoffrey M Yaryan is located about 10 minutes from the Indio courthouse. Whether you have been arrested for a felony, or misdemeanor or a dui, the case will likely be heard in the Larson Justice Center if you were arrested in the Coachella Valley. Riverside County also has several other branches that handle criminal cases: they are located in Riverside; Murrieta; Banning; Corona; and Blyth. There is also a branch of the Riverside County Juvenile court locate at 47-671 Oasis Street, Indio, Ca. 92201. For those wishing to find information about pending or closed cases the court provides public access to most records.
Across Oasis street from the Larson Justice Center is a branch of the Riverside County jail where inmates are housed waiting to appear in court. The facility like all jail facilities in the country - there are five - is supervised by the Riverside Sheriff’s Department’s correctional division. For those wishing to locate people who may be inmates in the system that information is available to the public.
Many of the clients who I have successfully handled reside in Indio, or in the unincorporated areas surrounding Indio. Indio is located in central Riverside County, in the Coachella Valley, California's Colorado Desert region. It lies 23 miles east of Palm Springs, 77 miles east of Riverside, and 127 miles east of Los Angeles. It is about 98 miles north of Mexicali, Baja California on the U.S.-Mexican border. The word Indio is Spanish for Indian. The 2010 United States Census reported that Indio had a population of 76,036.
The Mexican American presence in Indio dates back for over a century since the arrival of Traqueros or railroad laborers employed by Southern Pacific settled in Indio by 1910. The need for farm labor, construction, golf resorts and domestic jobs in the Palm Springs area is responsible for turning Indio to a magnet for Mexican immigrants.
